Erdogan meets world leaders at Ashgabat peace forum

(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan carried out a series of diplomatic meetings on Friday while attending an international forum in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan.

As stated by official updates, Erdogan conducted individual discussions with several leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhammedov. In addition to these formal meetings, he also briefly exchanged remarks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian prior to the group photo session.

These interactions formed part of Erdogan’s broader diplomatic activities surrounding the forum. The gathering itself is being organized in connection with the United Nations General Assembly’s designation of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust,” and also coincides with celebrations marking three decades since Turkmenistan adopted its status of permanent neutrality.
